    FLATBUSH ERUV

    Dear Editor:

To all those who continue to harass people who hold by the flatbush eruv. They have on whom to rely on. HARAV OVADIA YOSEF, HARAV MENASHE KLEIN, CHEIF SEPHARDIC ROV RABBI KASSIN, RABBI BARRY, HARAV KENNETH AUMAN, HARAV ALOUF, HARAV BEN TZION WOSNER, THE SEPHARDIC RABBINICAL COUNCIL AND MANY MORE.

Perkei Avos says “asei licha Rov.”

Leave them alone and have a good Shabbos/Shabbat shalom.

    Mr. Plonie

P.S. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE STATUS OF THE ERUV EVERY FRIDAY AND CHECK THE MAP TO MAKE SURE YOU’RE NOT OUTSIDE THE ERUV BOUNDARIES.

Editor’s Note: I would like to point out to you that none of these rabbanim you mention give hashgacha to the eruv right now. They are of the opinion that it may be done. Many people would like to know who actually checks the eruv and responds to any questions that may come up.

    RESPONSE TO MICHAEL

    Dear Editor:

Michael should not speak for “all factions of Jewry…with the exception of Zionists” concerning the three oaths.

That Agadateh has been explained and discussed by many gedolim and it’s not black and white at all. (See Rashash, Ketubot 111a, for example)

He asks, ” How can one know Torah and still be heretic?” Please relearn the Meraglim Parsha. The Meraglim were as great  or greater  than gedolim of our days.

Not you, Michael, nor I, nor any of us understand the ways of Hashem.

But what are eyes see;  Miracles and nissim both obvious and hidden in the land of Israel , growth in Aliyah, growth in agriculture, housing, Torah centers, etc. all while being surrounded by enemies near and far, cannot be explained away by invoking tired and stale arguments that you make.

It is YOU who needs an hashkafa adjustment, not the rest of us.

     We are believers.

    Sincerely,

    1. Weisenfeld

Editor’s Note: It’s hard to compare the meraglim who came before the gemara of the three shevuos to our day and age. The State of Israel’s existence became a controversy in the last two generations. Therefore, one cannot compare the meraglim who lived before the Jews were sent to exile to people in our generation.

    LEARNING WITH THE VUES

    Dear Editor:

I wanted to give you a big thank you! I’m a student and every week my teacher and I take your publication. We cut out the Appetizing Plus specials and make a shopping list with it. I love to do it and therefore wait eagerly for Wednesday. Thanks again.

    C.N

Editor’s Note: Thanks for your kind words. Keep on learning!

    SAFETY FIRST

    Dear Editor:

I wanted to remind your readership of a very important point. It is not OK to light your menorah and leave your house. It is extremely important to follow the rules of fire safety. Every year we hear stories of fires in people’s houses due to leaving the menorah unattended.

    Have a Safe Chanukah

    Capt. Jonah

Editor’s Note: Thanks for your advice. We hope we don’t need our brave firefighters’ services! Thanks for your great work always.

    SHIDDUCH CRISIS

    Dear Editor:

I think that the shidduch crisis is overblown. I think the reason boys are read more shidduchim is because they are the ones who are approached first. Girls do not get a phone call unless there is a “Yes.” This practice is a little unfair since the girl feels pressured to give a yes as soon as the boy said yes. I don’t know what the answer is. Any suggestions?

    1. Z.

Editor’s Note: One suggestion could be that shidduchim should be redt simultaneously to both sides. In this way, the boy’s side doesn’t have to waste time doing research if the girls’ side said “No.”

    UNDERSTANDING AMONA

    Dear Editor:

What do you think about the situation in Israel regarding Amona? Why can’t Israel use the concept of Eminent Domain and annex it as part of Israel instead of throwing the settlers out.

    Kobi S

Editor’s Note: Once you start with Eminent Domain other settlers will settle in and then there is no end to the situation. There has to be law and order despite the fact that the nation we are dealing with do not keep law and order. The posuk refers to them as, “Pereh Adam.” How true it is.
