OFFERING HELP TO A BAALAS SIMCHA REVISITED

I think the letter about helping the baalas simcha was spot on! I can truly understand what the letter writer was describing as I too, have been in the position of running around B”H for good things and was unable to feed my family at the time. Perhaps people will become aware of this concept that offering to make supper for a family busy with simchos and see that it’s a great idea!

Editor’s Note: I think the concept is around that people make suppers for people who have just given birth. Perhaps you would like to start a Gemach of sorts to provide suppers for busy baalei simcha.

I really enjoy your weekly stuff. I teach English to chasidim. At the time of Black Friday, I read your letters to the editor to my class and they really enjoyed it. WONDERFUL PUBLICATION

I love your magazine and get it every week, not necessarily for the sales, but to read the paper. I love the articles and I also like to read “Speak Ur Vues.” I had some difficulty reading the article written by R’ Berach Steinfeld in the last couple of issues. It was in such small print that I could not read it, even with my magnifying lenses! Maybe you can find some more space in your magazine to use a little larger print for this particular article. it’s always so interesting! Thank you. Shabbat Shalom

HAT BRIMS
Dear Editor:
What do you feel is the right size brim for bar mitzva boys to wear? Small brims or large brims? What do you feel about boys keeping their brims up? Is there a difference between yeshivish boys and non-yeshivish boys?

HOME SCHOOLING
Dear Editor:
What is this new phenomenon that people are starting to homeschool their children? The Yeshiva system with all its flaws is still the best option. I believe there is too much knocking against Yeshivas. Our yeshivas work very hard to educate our children and because there are some who have had not such a good
experience start gossiping against the yeshivas and cause irreparable harm. We need to show appreciation to all those in chinuch who are often underpaid and their pay comes late.

TALMIDEI CHOCHOMIM TO BE HEEDED

Those who say that Rabbis should stay out of politics please see Reb Moshe on P. 123
“There are people who maintain that Talmidei Chachomim are not qualified to decide political matters, that Gedolei Yisroel should limit themselves to Torah and Halacha. Such people cannot be considered within the Torah camp. One might well say ignoring the advice of a Talmid Chochom is far worse than violating a commandment. One who violates a commandment because he is too weak to resist temptation, at least knows that his action is wrong. By contrast, one who ignores the advice of a Talmid Chochom denies that a Torah scholar’s wisdom is superior. This is a far more serious breach.”
I think these words speak volumes.

Editor’s Note: As the mishna in Avos says, “Hafoch ba v’hafoch ba dikula ba.” Everything is in the Torah. So when one needs guidance, in all areas, he should turn to his Rav.
STOP TALKING IN SHUL
Dear Editor:
Hundreds of thousands of Jews were murdered during Tach V’Tat, the Tosfos Yom Tov says, as a result of the widespread talking in shul. I believe we should stop the talking in Shul.
