How are you feeling these days?

Better then I have the last three years.

What was it like playing in Brooklyn when you played for the Cyclones? It was cool, that was my first taste of New York City … it was a bit overwhelming. I’d never been to New York, especially playing in front of 10,000 fans, that was kind of cool. SC [Southern Cal] was kind of…shortage of fans. Playing there was a little taste of the big leagues, I guess. That was kind of a nice setting to start. You are known to be a very streaky hitter. Why is that? Streaks are going to happen, good or bad. It’s a part of the game. Obviously, I want to try to limit them. Limit my bad streaks and expand my hot streaks. Coming into this season was there any one aspect of your game, offensively, defensively, anything that you’re looking to fix up coming into 2017? There’s not really one thing, I’d like to improve on everything. There’s always room for improvement, especially me because there’s a whole truckload of room for improvement. I’d like to get my defense better. And small things, I’d like to do the small things better. Whether that’s to get a bunt over or execute a hit-and-run or get a guy over or whatever it maybe be. How do you stay in shape during the offseason? After the 2013 season, the Mets began an association with Mike Barwis, who is the CEO of Barwis Methods. First in Michigan that offseason and then in Port St. Lucie that winter I worked out with Mike. (Mike Barwis is now a senior adviser of strength and conditioning for the Mets) Mike( Barwis) has definitely helped me transform my body, increase my agility and amplify my power.

If you weren’t a baseball player, what do you think you would have been? I don’t know, maybe a firefighter.
