How do you like your new coach Coach
Shurmur? A: He’s an easy communicator.
He’s a family guy who’s a player’s coach. He
wants to know what works and what doesn’t
work. He cares about what you think. At the
same time, though, he’s very fierce and he’s
very serious about his business, and wants to
be a part of a good team.
There is a 14 year age difference between you and Eli Manning. Is it hard
to get along with someone that is that much different in age than
you? A:Not at all. We both like to break down and prepare for
games the same way and we both love to watch Seinfeld.
Tell us about your parents.
A:My father is my best friend. Everything
starts with him. My work ethic, my drive to be good all starts with him.
My father constantly teaches me how to deal with adversity and so much more. My mother
is the toughest person I know. She was an all American professional tennis player.
What would you say is your biggest
challenge going into the season? A: Not to press. I just think if you’re not prepared,
you’re thinking about pressing. I’m learning
a new system and I know right now that if
anything were to happen to Eli I could go in
there and there wouldn’t be a humongous
drop-off. Yes, Eli is the best quarterback
on this team and it’s not even close. But hopefully as I get better, I can still get us first
downs and touchdowns.
What can NY Giants fans think about
this coming season? A: You can expect a
driven, disciplined, passionate football team.
We’re gonna bring back some Giants pride.
