    BRISKET WITH MUSHROOMS AND ONIONS

    INGREDIENTS:

    3 lb 2nd cut brisket
    2 lbs assorted fresh mushrooms –
    whatever type you prefer -Portabella,
    shiitake, white or enoki
    3 onions sliced
    1 bunch cut scallions
    4 tablespoons maple syrup
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    1 tablespoon silan
    1 teaspoon of turmeric
    Salt and pepper to taste
    3 tablespoons of olive oil
    1.5-2 cups of water

    DIRECTIONS:

    This brisket comes out so tender
    and soft. You don’t even need a
    knife to cut it. It will melt in your

    mouth. It’s so flavorful and deli-
    cious.

    Preheat oven to 300 degrees
    In a dutch oven pot heat oil and
    add white onions and spices. Fry
    for about 10 minutes. Add the
    piece of beef and sear well on both
    sides.
    Add the mushrooms, green onions,
    maple, silan and soy.
    Mix gently and add the water.
    Cover the pan and bake in oven for
    4 hours.
