People are calling you the new face of the Giants franchise. How do you handle the
attention you’ve been getting since being drafted by the Giants?
A: People expect me to be this, to be that. Obviously people shape a
career for me, or shape what I should be. But I already have a high standard for myself.
I really don’t feel pressure from no one at all.
What do you think about your coach Pat Shurmur?
A: Coach Shurmur is amazing. He knows the game
very well. He’s very interactive with the players. He’s a leader. He’s very vocal.
Having him as a coach as a rookie is gonna help me tremendously.
How excited are you about becoming a part of this Giants offense with Eli & Odel?
A: This is a very talented offense. You’ve got an established quarterback, a proven quarterback
with two Super Bowl rings, two Super Bowl MVPs. You’ve got one of the best wide receivers
in the NFL, if not the best. In my opinion, personally, I think so. And you’ve got a young wide
receiving corps and adding offensive linemen Will Hernandez and Nate Solder to the offensive
line. If I can have the success that I had in college football, I think I would fit perfect in this offense.
But right now, the way I see myself is coming in and learning from the guys, from the older guys,
and lead at a young age. Getting the playbook and taking it day by day.
Is this a playoff team?
A: I believe that we have the talent to be a playoff team. Everybody in the NFL has the talent to be a playoff team.
We just gotta find a way to have one more points than our opponent every week.
