    PLAYERS I’D PAY TO WATCH PLAY BASEBALL: There are a lot of guys I enjoy watching play, the few that stick out are Albert Pujols, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Carl Crawford.

    BEST ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED: To get never give up on anything you undertake.

    BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Never making the playoffs as a major league manager.

    TOUGHEST PITCHER I EVER FACED: I never made the majors as a player, so they were all tough for me.

    BEHIND MY BACK PEOPLE SAY ABOUT ME: That I am to intense, got to lighten up.

    GAME SITUATION I ENJOY MANAGING MOST: The 9th inning of a close game.

    MOST EMBARRASSING BASEBALL EXPERIENCE: Once when managing, I made a mistake not knowing correctly if that night’s starter was a righty or lefty. I played the wrong players as a result, but we won 9-1 anyways!

    MY MOST MEMORABLE GAME I WAS INVOLVED IN: The 1992 playoffs when my Pirates played the Atlanta Braves. That Game 7 was one I will never forget, an unreal finish.

    BIGGEST THRILL TO DATE AS A MAJOR LEAGUER:  Being named manager for the first time for the Houston Astros in 1994. I’m looking forward to a great season.
