MOVING TO LAKEWOOD
Dear Editor:
Fine yidden are moving to Lakewood in droves from Brooklyn & beyond, mainly due to the more affordable housing market.
BEWARE: Be sure to find a school for your kids before joining our wonderful community. The schools in Lakewood a PACKED! ken”h. The local residents are having a hard time finding a school, k”v a newcomer. As a longtime Lakewood resident I had a very hard time getting my kids in due to the shortage of space. I can easily see someone feeling terrible after being rejected time & again even though it’s not usually personal. Please don’t even considering moving here without a guaranteed place in a local school.
“It never once occurred to us that finding a school for our kids could prove to be a challenge.
We couldn’t have been more wrong.”
From a new Lakewood resident.
Editor’s Note: You can always open up a school if you move to Lakewood. There is no reason to disparage a whole town because some people had difficulty getting into school.
WEARING A HAT AND JACKET
Dear Editor:
I am writing this because I am overcome by this terrible trend hitting bnei Torah and Rebbiem, Not that long ago all yungerleit and rabbeim had this inborn shtultz to never walk in the streets without a hat and jacket, just like a soldier in the army has to wear his uniform at all times when he is on duty or else he will get court marshalled, so too, yungerliet and rabbeim who are on duty 24/7- 365 should have to wear their hats and jackets whenever they step out into the street.
Where has our kavod HaTorah fallen to????
Yankel Stern
Editor’s Note: Whoever said that wearing a hat and jacket is Kavod HaTorah? If you look at old pictures, the Bnei Torah wore caps! It definitely is a nice thing to wear a hat and jacket, but to put down those who don’t seems a bit unfair.
PROPOSAL
Dear Editor:
I thought I’d share a dating story with you. A guy was going to get engaged to this girl but he was a bit of a jokester so he says, “I have to ask you a serious question.” The girl got all nervous, like what does he want and he’s like ok………when you brush your teeth, do you squeeze the toothpaste from the bottom or the middle of the tube?” She answered without missing a beat, ” I don’t brush my teeth.” He cracked up and proposed on the spot.

Editor’s Note: This story has left me with bad breath. I guess I will have to brush up on my knowledge of up to date proposals.
STONE FELL
Dear Editor:
Did you hear the news?
This morning (11 Av) a stone fell out of the Kotel in the “Egalitarian” section of the kotel.
There is a video of the incident around the news media.
