SPEAK YOUR VUES WITH THE VUES MASTER

    ACCIDENTS

    Dear Vues Master:
Klal Yisrael please listen. The amount of car accidents
upstate this summer has increased drastically. Between
people speeding and people not listening to the traffic laws
things are very dangerous upstate this summer. Drivers must
take responsibility for their actions and adhere to vehicle
and traffic laws. Reckless behavior behind the wheel puts
innocent lives at risk and has no place on our roads. We must
constantly think of making a kiddush hashem & not chas
    v’shalom a chilul hashem.

    TISHA B’AV 2024
    Dear Vues Master
Rabbi Shaul Robinson from the Lincoln Square Synagogue
posted an excellent question online this week about Tisha
B’Av 2024. This is what he wrote. Is it appropriate to
recite Kinnot for October 7th? Is this ‘destruction’ like
past destructions? Is it too soon? Should this year’s event
effectively displace the way we talk about the Shoah on
Tisha B’Av, which has become a major focus for the day,
especially in readings / explanations around the Kinnot, shul
    programming etc…
    GP
Vues Master’s Note: Saying a special kinah, like the one R.
Rimon wrote and interpreting some of the others in light of
October 7 makes sense to me. May THIS year’s morning be
transformed THIS year into rejoicing and gladness!”

    COFFIN-FREE
    Dear Vues Master
Starting this past Thursday, EL AL’s daily flight LY02 from
John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Tel Aviv (TLV) will be
designated as coffin-free year-round. Historically, human
remains have been transported in the baggage compartments
of passenger flights for burial in distant locations,
particularly on routes to Israel due to its significance in
Judaism. However, this has posed a problem for Kohanim,
as the ritual impurity (tumah) from the deceased can rise
into the passenger cabin. Aiming to address the concern
of Kohanim wanting to fly to Israel, EL AL is introducing
the coffin-free flight option, ensuring that Kohanim can
travel without worrying about tumah. This move follows
the airline’s existing policy of not carrying coffins on

flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
While some rabbanim permit Kohanim to fly under certain
    circumstances, others forbid it entirely.
    PL
Vues Master’s Note: We must be thankful to the frum owners
of El Al for all they do to help Klal Yisrael.

    KAMALA CHAMELEON
    Dear Vues Master:
The 9 days are a solemn tragic time in our History. Israel
is on the brink of Chalila A Major War on 2 fronts. Harris/
Biden Administration are telling Netanyahu to “stand down”
as Hamas ,Iran and Lebanon are talking about Retaliation!
And to top it all of- this administration is withholding the
arms to Israel that Congress in December voted to send
to Israel!(read Netanyahu’s plea quoting Churchill) And
Kamala Chameleon (as Rabbi Dov Fisher calls her) keeps
on lying to us while she flip flops on every radical issue she
stands for- flip flopping is expedient to get her the vote!

Lies Lies and More Lies! Biden hid out in his basement-
while Harris is hiding behind her teleprompter- avoiding

any extemporaneous answers to issue questions! What is she
afraid of??? At the same time the Economy – and even the
stock market are Tanking- with a strong possibility that our
Inflation is heading towards a Recession! Still going to vote
for Harris? Still not intending to vote? Think again!!! WE
MUST Vote for the welfare of Our People and for the well
being of both our countries- Don’t sit this one out!

    Shakran!

    AN ORCHESTRATED EVENT
    Dear Vues Master
Two months ago the Iranian president was killed when his
helicopter crashed. Most people didn’t suspect foul play and
assumed it was an old helicopter and bad weather. The New
York Times just reported that two months ago Israel planted
a bomb in an Iranian apartment where VIP guests who need
extra security stay. Ismail Haniyeh travelled to Iran to attend
the inauguration of the new Iranian president. He was hosted
in the apartment that Israel planted the bomb in. It was there
that he was killed. It’s almost like Israel orchestrated events.
    Perfectly. Almost.

Vues Master’s Note: Hashem should continue to guide
    Tzahal in the right direction.

    SHAPIRO
    Dear Vues Master: “Shapiro apologizing
for his pro Israel views tells me all I need to
know about the Democratic Party. Apparently,
to be VP, you need to make sure to distance
yourself from Israel. How vile. But sure, tell
me more about how Jewish people should vote
for Kamala. And I am telling you right now,
if you respond to this post by trashing Trump,
I’m blocking you. I’m so tired of people
responding to anything I write by attacking
Bibi or Trump when I mentioned neither of
them in the post. I can say I don’t like Kamala
without me being a MAGA supporter. It’s
called nuance. I can have problems with both
candidates. That said, the anti Israel rhetoric
in the Democratic Party as well as some of
their actions really are shocking, dangerous,
and morally bankrupt.” HF Vues Master’s
Note: I heard that Kamala chose Ben Shapiro
as her running mate!! PALESTINIANS Dear
Vues Master: Israel last week carried out a
rare airstrike on Arab terrorists in a Palestinian
Authority city. It was logical and effective. But

it was also a prime example of the kind of anti-
terrorist action the Israelis will never be able

to undertake if a Palestinian state is created.
In the past, Israel typically has sent ground
troops into PA cities in pursuit of terrorists.
But again and again, mobs of Palestinian Arab
civilians have interfered by hurling rocks
and firebombs at the soldiers as they try to
advance. Israeli soldiers also face additional
danger when they surround the house where
the terrorists are hiding. The terrorists
inevitably fire on the soldiers, creating a
standoff that buys time for other terrorists in
the area to converge on the site and join the
attack. Sometimes the sieges have continued
all night long. So a targeted airstrike, like this
week’s strike in Tulkarm, makes sense. Yes, air
strikes involve a greater risk of casualties to
civilians in the area. But that’s an inevitable
part of every war. Concern about civilian
casualties never stopped the American air
force from bombing Nazis in World War II, or
Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, or ISIS in Syria and
Iraq. The Tulkarm airstrike was a success. It
killed nine Palestinian terrorists, including the
leader of the Hamas branch in Tulkarm. You
may wonder how it is that there’s a branch of
Hamas operating in a Palestinian Authority
city such as Tulkarm. After all, when the PA
signed the Oslo Accords back in 1993-1995,
it explicitly accepted the obligation to root out
terrorists. The text of Oslo II requires the PA
security forces to “apprehend, investigate and
prosecute perpetrators and all other persons
directly or indirectly involved in acts of
    terrorism, violence and incitement.” (Annex
I, Article II, 3-c). There’s no doubt the PA
has enough manpower to do the job. In fact,
more than enough. The original 12,000-man
police force that the Oslo Accords authorized
have illegally ballooned into a 60,000-man
de-facto army. That makes it the sixth-largest

per-capita security force in the world—1,250
“police officers” per 100,000 people. Yet
here we are, more than thirty years later, and
the PA still refuses to use its security forces
against terrorists. It treats Hamas like its
brothers, not its enemies. That’s why Hamas
openly flourishes in a PA city such as Tulkarm.
Hamas terrorists are not arrested. They are
not disarmed. Their weapons depots are
not seized. Israel’s extradition requests are
ignored. The PA won’t even outlaw Hamas.
Now, let’s assume for the sake of argument

that a Palestinian state is established in Judea-
Samaria, as the State Department, J Street, and

the United Nations are always demanding.
Tulkarm would certainly be part of it, since
it’s the sixth-largest PA city. There’s no way
the PA is going to turn Tulkarm over to Israel.
There are two important consequences to
Tulkarm being part of a “State of Palestine.”
First, Tulkarm sits adjacent to the armistice
lines of 1967, at Israel’s most narrow point
along the Mediterranean coast. Meaning that
Israel would be less than 9.5 miles wide again,
as it was between 1949 and 1967. That’s less
than 36% of the length of the New York City
Marathon and five miles less than Hamas
terrorists invaded into Israel on October 7th.
The second consequence is that Israel would
never be able to use its air power against
    terrorists in Tulkarm. “Palestine” would
employ its anti-aircraft missiles to shoot
down the Israeli aircraft. And, of course, the
international community would side with the
Palestinians. Sending planes or drones into
the air space of another country is a violation
    of that country’s sovereignty—and therefore
it has every right to respond. Israel would
face not only worldwide condemnations, but
probably international sanctions as well. All of
which is yet another reminder that the creation
of a Palestinian state would pose mortal danger
to Israel—and that no matter how many times
the phrase “two-state solution” is repeated, it’s
still a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

again. We don’y come out smelling good!Wait
till she speaks then the oilam will see what a

    ARTICLE
    Dear Vues Master:
Rabbi Fischer has written a clear, strong article
explaining why it makes absolutely no sense
to vote for Kamala Harris. His arguments are
clear and forceful. You may agree or disagree
with him, but you see that all his arguments
are fact based. As any reasonable discussion of
politics should be. Why, then, was it necessary
to lapse into a muddy discussion of her
personal indiscretions? We are looking to elect
politically capable people, not role models
for how to live our lives! Such comments
are unbecoming for a Torah publication and
its readers, and certainly for a Rabbi. Can we

try to stay out of the sewer that politics has
    become?

    STATS
    Dear Vues Master:
As the Gabel family gathered to celebrate
Zayde’s 101st Birthday, his great, great, great
grandson asked: “Zayde, are you going to be
around for your 102nd birthday party?” “I’m
pretty sure I will,” Zayde answered, “After all,
the chazukah is with me and statistics show
that very few people die between the ages of
    101 and 102.”

    TZEDAKAH
    Dear Vues Master:
The following story by Rabbi Elimelech
    Biderman Shlit”a will demonstrate the
importance of taking care of tzedakah and
chesed matters right away; not pushing them
off for later: There was a G-d fearing baal
tzedakah who was careful to give tzedakah
according to halacha: to the right places, the
right amount of money, and other halachic
criteria. Therefore, he would learn hilchos
tzedakah with the Ba’ch, daily. Once,
someone came to the Ba’ch with a problem.
He ran a tavern that he rented from a poritz,
but someone convinced the poritz to rent
the tavern to him instead, and he offered the
poritz more money. It’s forbidden to take away
someone else’s parnassah. But that person did
that, and now the victim was asking the Ba’ch
for assistance. The Ba’ch summoned for the
baal tzedakah, and requested that he go speak
with the poritz. The baal tzedakah knew the
poritz from his dealings, and they were on
good terms. He could influence the poritz to
keep his previous tenant. The baal tzedakah
promised to do all he can. But outside the
Ba’ch’s home, when the baal tzedakah spoke
with the tavern keeper, he said, “I will take
care of it as soon as I return from the Leipzig
Fair.” The tavern keeper said, “But by that
time, he may have already signed a contract
with the competition. And even worse, the
competition may already have moved into
the tavern, and then it will be harder to send
him out. Please take care of it before you go to
Leipzig.” The wealthy baal tzedakah replied,
“I am liable to lose all my money if I don’t go
to this fair. I’m sorry, I have no choice; I must
go. But don’t worry. The fair is only for one
week. As soon as I return, I will speak with the
poritz Even before I go home, I’ll go straight
to the poritz’s home. Everything will be fine.”
To encourage the tavern manager some more,
he reminded him: “Nothing happens if it isn’t
Hashem’s decree. Your competitor can’t take
the tavern away from you, if it wasn’t decreed

on Rosh Hashanah…” The tavern manager was
comforted, and went home to tell his wife the
good news: “The baal tzedakah promised to
speak with the poritz for me, and everything
will be good, be’ezras Hashem. He said he will
speak with the poritz as soon as he returns from
Leipzig.” But his wife was very worried. The
tavern manager repeated the ideas of emunah
and bitachon he heard from the baal tzedakah,
but those didn’t calm her. She said, “If it was
for anyone else, the baal tzedakah would
have taken care of the matter immediately.
But since it’s for you, everyone knows that
they can push you off. It’s your fault! You let
people take advantage of you!” She screamed
and insulted her husband with her sharp
words. Now, in addition to their worries, their
shalom bayis was affected too. A week later,
the baal tzedakah returned, and even before
going home, he spoke with the poritz as he
said he would, and succeeded to convince the
poritz to keep the old contract. Years passed.
The night after the baal tzedakah was niftar, he
came to the Ba’ch in his dream and told him
the following: “I was greeted in heaven with
honor and joy, and the court said that I can
go to a high place in Gan Eden, where there
are many great tzaddikim. I headed towards
the gate that leads to Gan Eden, but a large,
beautiful malach stood at the gate and didn’t
let me pass. I told the malach that the court told
me I may go to a high place in Gan Eden, and I
pleaded with him to let me pass, but he refused
to let me get to the entranceway. He said, ‘I
was created by your good deed, when you
spoke to the poritz on this man’s behalf. It was
a very special deed, which created a beautiful
malach. But you also did something wrong.
You went to Leipzig first. That put stress on
the shalom bayis of this couple, not to mention
that they were agonized with worry. Therefore,
I request that the celestial court judge you once
again.’ “I was brought before the heavenly
court a second time. The court ruled that for
the amount of days the couple suffered, I
would need to stand outside Gan Eden. I am
now standing in the corridor outside of Gan
Eden, and watching the tzaddikim inside. It’s
extremely painful for me to be here, and not be
permitted to enter. Each hour feels like many
years.” In the morning, the Ba’ch gathered the
community, and told them his dream. He said
that we learn from this the importance of doing
chessed without delay. When someone needs
help, lend your help immediately, because
pushing it off for later is prolonging their
    sorrow.

    NASA
    Dear Vues Master:
NASA’s space shuttle program began setting
records with its first space launch on April
12, 1981 and continued to set high marks

    for achievement and endurance throughout
its thirty years of missions. Starting with
    Columbia and continuing with Challenger,
    Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavour, the
    space shuttle missions carried astronauts
and payload specialists into orbit repeatedly,
    launched, recovered and repaired satellites,
conducted cutting-edge research and built the
largest structure in space, the International
Space Station. The final space shuttle mission,
STS-135, ended on July 21, 2011 when Space
Shuttle Atlantis rolled to a stop at its home
port, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center located
on Merritt Island, Florida. One of the earlier

missions, named STS-51-L, was the twenty-
fifth Space Shuttle flight and the tenth flight of

the Space Shuttle Challenger. The crew was
commanded by Dick Scobee and it included
the pilot, and three mission specialists. There
were also two Payload Specialists. One
was assigned to conduct experiments and
research for the Hughes Aircraft Company,
and the second was Christa McAuliffe, who
flew as part of the Teacher in Space Project.
The Teacher in Space Project (TISP) was a
    NASA program announced by President
Ronald Reagan in 1984 designed to inspire
students, honor teachers, and spur interest in
    mathematics, science, and space exploration.
The project would carry teachers into space as
    Payload Specialists (non-astronaut civilians),
who would return to their classrooms after
their missions to share the experience with
their students. The few teachers who were
chosen for this exceptional honor considered
it one of the greatest accomplishments of
their careers. There was fierce competition
amongst educators to be chosen for this special
mission. After months of speculation and
    decision-making, the contest was narrowed
down to a few finalists, one of whom was an
Orthodox Jewish teacher in a Hebrew Day
School. She had submitted her application
and was a fine choice for the selection. In
the end, though, she was not chosen as the
Teacher in Space finalist as another teacher,
Christa McAuliffe, was honored with a seat
on the Challenger. On January 28, 1986,
the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded in
mid-air 73 seconds into its flight, killing all
seven crew members aboard. The spacecraft
disintegrated 46,000 feet (14 km) above
the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Cape
Canaveral, Florida. It was the first fatal
    accident involving an American spacecraft
while in flight. The crew was scheduled to
deploy a communications satellite and study
Halley’s Comet while they were in orbit, in
addition to taking Christa McAuliffe into
space under the Teacher in Space program.
The latter task resulted in a higher than usual
media interest in the mission; the launch
and subsequent disaster was viewed live in
many schools across the United States. It
was a horrific incident and it was all anyone

was talking about. Many students who
watched the launch live were traumatized and
could not function properly for a long time
    afterward. The Jewish schoolteacher who
had almost been chosen for the mission, was
receiving so many phone calls and messages
from her family and friends expressing how
lucky she was that she had not been on the
mission. It clearly saved her life. The next
day, as she was walking down the hall in her
school building, one boy who was known
to be quite rowdy and mischievous, walked
up to her and commented, “I wish you
would have been on the Challenger shuttle.”
The teacher froze in disbelief. How could
anyone say something so evil and horrible
to another human being no matter how much
the student might hate her? Who thinks this
way – let alone a young child? What parent
would allow their son to say such malicious
words? It was as if this boy wanted her to
die or even worse, was threatening her in the
future! Her mind was whirling with thoughts
about how to admonish this boy. He needed
to be punished – she was sure of that! She just
wasn’t sure how. Suddenly, the boy looked up
at her and explained, “I wish you had been on
the space shuttle because you are such a good
teacher, that if you were on it, then Hashem
would not have let the shuttle explode!”

    GRANDMA
    Dear Vues Master:
Sadie was 65 years old when, with the help

of modern science and a fertility specialist,
she had a miracle baby. When she got home,
all her friends and relatives came to see her
and meet the newest member of her family.
But when they asked to see the baby, Sadie
said “Not yet.” A little later, they again asked
to see the baby, but Sadie replied “Not yet.”
Finally, they asked “So when can we see the
baby?” Sadie replied: “When the baby cries.”
Surprised, they asked why they needed to wait
until it cried. Embarrassed, Sadie responded:
“Because I forgot where I put it.”

    NEW VP
    Dear Vues Master
Welcome to the race, Tim Walz! Let’s
make sure America knows who you are.
You helped ignite the George Floyd riots,
the worst the country had seen in decades.
While Minneapolis burned, you stalled on
deploying the National Guard for an entire
day, blaming the city for not submitting the
right paperwork. You let your daughter leak
the Guard’s deployment plans online, so that
rioters would know how long they had to
loot the city with impunity. Minneapolis is
a war zone because of you. Just days after
the attempted murder of Donald Trump, you
called him and his supporters “fascists,”
egging on the same rhetoric that led to
him being shot in the first place. You have
overseen some of the most radical youth
surgery laws in the country. Under your
leadership teenagers can get their chest area
chopped off and get sterilized, and your
government calls it “healthcare.” You have
the most radical abortion laws in the country.
Zero limits. Every year 5-6 babies are
BORN ALIVE and then murdered “legally”
under laws you support. On immigration,
you famously said you wanted to provide a
“ladder” so invaders can come over Trump’s
wall. You are a radical open border zealot.

You oversaw the single worst fraud of the
Covid era, the Feeding Our Future case.
Thanks to ineptitude at your Department
of Education, criminals stole $250 million
of taxpayer dollars to spend on luxury cars,
houses, and vacations. Also during Covid,
you approved $500 million in “hero pay” for
frontline workers, only to have 40% of that
money go to people who were ineligible or, in
many cases, literally deceased. In the House,
you were Pelosi’s sidekick and did whatever
the Democrats demanded. You will try to
disguise yourself as a folksy midwestern
moderate. In reality, you are a white male
version of Kamala Harris. Radical. Inept.

    CONSUMER ALERT
    Dear Vues Master
Yummy Foods, based in Edison, NJ, has
issued a recall of their Yummy Swirly Ices
line due to possible milk contamination.
The products, which are kosher parve, may
pose a serious risk to individuals with milk
allergies or severe sensitivities. The recall
was prompted by a consumer complaint of
discomfort after consuming the Swirly Ices.
    An investigation into the cross-contamination
is ongoing. Yummy Foods stressed that this
recall is not due to a kashrus concern and
the products are all considered pareve, as
confirmed by the CRC and OU. The affected
products, packaged in printed wrappers with
the Yummy logo, were distributed to retail
    supermarkets in several states, including
New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio,
    Illinois, Florida, and California. Consumers
with milk allergies or sensitivities are advised
not to consume the recalled products, which
include: – Swirly Berry Blast – Swirly
Tropical Tornado – Swirly Churning Cherry
    – Swirly Variety Pack Also being pulled
over contamination concerns are: – Yummy
Watermelon – Yummy Boom ices (cherry,
orange, lemon) Returns can be made to the
original point of purchase for a full refund.
