30 Sep SPEAK YOUR VUES WITH THE VUES MASTER
LOSS OF RABBI ZUCKER
Dear Vues Master:
This past weekend we lost a Torah gem. My son
was very close to the Rav & he will be missed
by all of his talmidim. Rav Zucker petirah leaves
an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family,
talmidim, and the many who were privileged to
know him. Since the accident we all have been
saying tehillim & learning on his behalf. He
wasn’t just a rebbi. He was a father figure, a guide,
and a source of unwavering support to countless
bochurim who looked to him for inspiration and
guidance. Rav Zucker’s dedication to the yeshiva
and its talmidim knew no bounds. He worried
about every talmid‘s needs, striving to bring out
their potential and always ensuring that they felt
valued and heard.

Vues Master’s Note: Yes! Another great loss for
Klal Yisroel!

Dear Vues Master:
I would like to publicly thank Biden for not
informing Hezbollah about Israel’s strike that
(hopefully) killed Nasrallah, even though it
probably will escalate the war with Iran coming
into it That doesn’t mean I’m voting for Harris
though so libs don’t get your hopes up

Vues Master’s Note: Ha! Bibi did not let
Washington know about this!
CELEBRATING
Dear Vues Master:
Our Sages noted that this rich word of praise
was first used when David saw the downfall of
the wicked (Brachos 9b). With the assassination
of the wicked and murderous Hezbollah terror
chief Nasrallah, we must say Halleluka, giving
praise to Hashem. We are grateful to Hashem and
to the beloved and dedicated soldiers of the IDF
who continue to fight to eradicate the vicious evil
surrounding Israel.
We are grateful and we must express that gratitude,
but we are in no mood of celebration. We cannot
celebrate because the war is not over and the men
and women of the IDF continue to put their lives
on the line while their families anxiously await
their safe return. We cannot celebrate while tens
of thousands continue to be refugees in their own
land and while many more live under the constant
threat of rocket fire. And we cannot celebrate
while the hostages continue to languish in the
tunnels of Gaza.
We cannot celebrate. But we can pray in the
words of the prophetess Devorah: “Kein yovdu
kol oyvecha Hashem, thus may all Your enemies
perish, Hashem.”
As we approach Rosh Hashana, we must come
together with love for each other and with a shared
commitment to the downfall of our true enemies.
While joy may be warranted at the downfall of
villainous antisemites, we must refuse to build
enmity between Jews. We are one nation, and we
need each other.
We daven that at this critical time, Hashem send
His light and His truth to the leaders, ministers,
and counselors of the State of Israel; that He put
in the hearts of the leaders of the free world to deal
kindly with Israel; that He strengthen the hands
of the defenders of our Holy Land, granting them
deliverance and crowning them with
victory over evil; and that He deliver
the hostages from darkness and the
shadow of death.
Our Selichot prayers frequently invoke
the image of the hostage pleading and
yearning for freedom and conclude
with the heartfelt plea to G-d: “We
beseech You, in Your abundant mercy,
heal our overwhelming pain, so that
we are not annihilated in captivity.”
We thus pray for the fulfillment of the
divine promise we read this Shabbos
(Devarim 30:3), “the Lord your G-d
will bring your captives back and
have compassion on you; and He will
again gather you from among all those
where He has scattered you.”
Let us gather to express sincere
gratitude to Hashem for the downfall
of the wicked and pray to Him that He
bring the hostages home, the soldiers
home, the refugees home, and all of us
together b’ahavat Yisrael.

Vues Master’s Note: Let us have a lot
of such questions where our enemies
will fall!
DAWN THE MOURNING
AFTER
Dear Vues Master:
Thoughts after R. Avrohom Ausband’s
(AH} Shivah
One of the greatest gifts bestowed
upon .us is lloo.cll,’3hikclwr the ability
to “forget” the sad and disturbing
happenings in our lives- or at best
to put them on the backburner, so to
speak. But that is not happening yet-
no, it’s just too soon. The passing of
R’ Avrohom Ausband(A”H) is so very
fresh in our minds- that most of us
can’t even wrap our heads around this
tragic event. Shivah is a time for the
heart and the mind to start “adjusting”.
Our Chachomim wisely knew that we
could not survive handling the tragedy
alone;we needed the comfort of those
close to us to help us get through the
first 7 days of “shock.” Seven days
pass quickly and while it seems to be
a ‘bad dream’-a dream from which we
will surely awake ,sadly we won’t as
reality takes over. What happens after
‘t hose early days pass, then what?
I recall the time when as a young
woman of about 271 lost my dear
beloved mother- Rivkah Laufer (A’H).
During Shivah we were inundated
with hundreds of well wishers;still we
could not be consoled. Then everyone
“left” And with this “leaving” came
the deafening silence, the void both
in our homes and in our hearts. The
Koach of Shikcha it simply did not
work · I couldn’t help but feel- “where
is everyone?””~ The koach of Shikcha
again no help from it at all~?” I
walked out into the street and saw the
sun shining-and said out loud “What
right had it to shine????” ‘”The Koach
of Shikcha was ineffective once
again I saw people mulling around
as if nothing happened – “didn’t they
know7” “The Koach of Shikcha was
ineffective once again. I heard people
chatting and some even laughing and
I thought: “How could they laugh? “
The Koach of Shikcha was ineffective
once again Then I recall what Koheles
says: “Lakol Zman Vaes … … Eis
Livkot …. Eis Lispod.:’
• • That time of crying and lamenting
still exists in the present for us- the
wound is too sore- the pain is still too
acute • We are not yet ready for : “Eis
Lirkod and Eis Lischok” – not quite
yet. And when we are ready to sing
and dance we will NOT FORGET
•We will remember eternally his love
of Torah -his deep devotion to his
Alumni and his Talmidim-his genuine
caring for any of us in need for his
help; we will never forget his rejoicing
in our Smachot and his bereavement
in our tragedies. , He genuinely cared!
So for us- those of us who are “his
family”be it by blood or by association,
we will never forget the Godot Hadar-
“our Rebbi – our friend our “father”
Rav Avrohom Ausband(A’H) Forus
The Koach of Shikcha• Will only
serve to diminish the acuteness of the
pain- but will not serve to make us
FORGET! Dawn will come some day
soon – Mashiach is surely around the
bend! And that will be The Dawn that
will follow after the “MOURNING”!

MASHIACH
Dear Vues Master:
The Chofetz Chaim says to bring
Mashiach we need to love everyone.
Pray whoever you do not love should
have the most Olom Haba.
BT
Vues Master’s Note: I have some good
news to tell you Moshiach is on his
way!
OZEMPIC
Dear Vues Master:
During COVID we dealt with the
Covid Test/Mask/Vad bots. Now that
the COVID grift is up they’re shifting
to Ozempic. Instead of saying less
restaurants (notice the amount of
restaurants popping up in heimish
restaurants and overeating at simchas)
and exercise they’re pill pushing
Ozempic. Within the next few months
the grifters will feature some Rov in
sure to promote the product.

Vues Master’s Note: It is always some

YOM KIPPUR
Dear Vues Master:
One כיפור יום, one of the מתפללים
wasn’t feeling well and disappeared for
an hour in the middle of מוסף. When
he returned and was flipping through
the מחזור looking for something, the
man next to him said: “Don’t trouble
yourself looking, you won’t find ברכת
“.יום כיפור מחזור the in המזון

Vues Master’s Note: I thought that is
what Korim is for!
JUST ONE SHABBOS
Dear Vues Master:
Almost everyone has sinned. So
why are there some mitzvos that
are impossible for us to do? Like if
everyone in the whole world keeps
just one Shabbos Moshiach will come
the next day. This is so good, it’s
worth putting the effort in to make
this happen. People are lazy without
a good enough reason. I think the
powerful people of the world should
come together for a big meeting and
find a way for everyone to keep at
least one Shabbos (the same Shabbos)
this is the quickest way of making
Moshiach come! And its SO EASY!
DH
Vues Master’s Note: Easy? It is one of
the hardest Mitzvos!
UNITY
Dear Vues Master:
It didn’t get any air time in the
Yeshivish News space, but R Willig
RY RIETS gave a Hesped for R
Ausband ZT”L RY Telse Alumni
Riverdale. People from the Riverdale
community speak of the reverence the
2 Manhigei Hador had for each other,
despite leading Yeshivas having 2
different approaches.

THE PATIENT
Dear Vues Master
A sweet Jewish grandmother
telephoned Mt. Sinai Hospital. She
timidly asked, “Is it possible to speak to
someone who can tell me how a patient
is doing?” The operator said, “I’ll be
glad to help, dear. What’s the name
and room number of the patient?” The
grandmother in her weak, tremulous
voice said, Norma Stein, Room 302.”
The operator replied, “Let me put you
on hold while I check with the nurse’s
station for that room.” After a few
minutes, the operator returned to the
phone and said, “I have good news.
Her nurse just told me that Norma
is doing well. Her blood pressure is
fine; her blood work just came back
normal and her Physician, Dr. Cohen,
has scheduled her to be discharged
tomorrow.” The grandmother said,
“Thank you. That’s wonderful. I was
so worried. God bless you for the good
News.” The operator replied, “You’re
more than welcome. Is Norma your
daughter?” The grandmother said,
“No, I’m Norma Stein in Room 302.
No one tells me anything!” RW
Vues Master’s Note: Funny!
BITACHON
Dear Vues Master
Rabbi Elimelech Biderman Shlit”a
said that in a drasha given by Reb
Chaim Vital zt’l he spoke about
bitachon, and asserted that if someone
truly trusts in Hashem, Hashem will
support him even if he doesn’t work
at all. One simple Yid heard this, and
decided to put it into practice. The
gentiles who frequented his shop
mocked him when they found him
learning Torah, instead of working.
He told them that he closed the shop,
and trusts that Hashem will provide.
A few days later, a gentile merchant
came into his store carrying a heavy
fur cloak, “I bought this for cheap, and
I’ll sell it to you.” The Yid explained
to him that his store was closed. The
gentile replied, “Even so, the fur is
too heavy for me to carry around. I
will leave it here. When you the have
money, you can pay me,” and he left
the store. The Yid tried to lift the
fur to put it aside, but it ripped and
many silver coins fell out. Hashem
had granted him wealth because
he trusted in Hashem. A neighbor
heard what happened, and decided
that he too will stop working. Weeks
passed, and he wasn’t earning money.
He asked Reb Chaim Vital for an
explanation. “Why did my neighbor
become wealthy with his bitachon,
while I didn’t earn anything at all?”
Reb Chaim Vital explained, “When
your neighbor trusted in Hashem, he
didn’t know how Hashem will help
him. But you were waiting for the fur
cloak…” HY
Vues Master’s Note: Very nice.
SHCHITA
Dear Vues Master
Reb Yisroel Salanter once found
himself in a strange town with
nowhere to stay. After inquiring he
ended up at the house of one of the
baal habatim in town. When he
arrived, the man greeted him and
asked “by any chance do you know
how to do shchitah? Reb Yisroel
Salanter answered “yes I do, how
can I help?” The man explained
that they had a party, and the town
shoichet was not around. All they
had was a cow with no one who
could shecht it. R’ Yisroel obliged
and the baal habos was relieved.
But in passing he remarked, “by
the way, I don’t have enough
money to return home, can you
advance me the money for the rest
of the train fare, and when I return
home, I will send you the money.”
The Baal Habos replied, “listen,
I don’t even know you, how can
I possibly trust you to send me
back the money?” R’ Yisroel
used this story time and again to
illustrate the inconsistency with
which people do Mitzvois. “I was
good enough to shecht their cow
without even a moment’s inquiry,
but I’m not believable enough to
return my train fare.” Very often
we view people as being good
enough for one mitzvah or in one
scenario, but we don’t allow the same
presumed veracity to carry over to
any other scenario. Chessed, if done
properly should be as consistent as
possible.

Vues Master’s Note: We all need to do
more chesed.
SAYING L’DOVID
Dear Vues Master
Rav Gamliel Rabinowitz writes
(Tiv HaEmunah) that Rav Shabsi of
Rashkov describes in his writings on
the Siddur the greatness of saying
L’Dovid twice a day from Rosh
Chodesh Elul until Simchas Torah.
That individual will be guaranteed
that his years will be found to be
good, and it will be delightful for him.
Even if there was an evil decree in
Shamayim written against a person,
saying L’Dovid makes it capable of
having it nullified. All the different
types of prosecuting Malachim will
be removed from upon him, and all the
harsh and evil decrees upon him will
be abolished, which will allow him
to emerge innocent and exonerated
from the judgement. This is because
from Rosh Chodesh Elul, the thirteen
wellsprings of the thirteen Attributes
of Hashem’s mercy are opened and
are flowing down to us. It is for this
reason that the merciful Name of
Hashem is mentioned thirteen times
in the Perek of L’Dovid!
TUT
Vues Master’s Note: During the month
of Elul we should all be working on
improving ourselves.
